Opening: 09.05.2014, 18:00

Muzeum Etnograficzne w Krakowie, ul. Krakowska 46 (Dom Esterki)
TUE, WEN, FRI, SAT: 11:00-19:00 | THU: 11:00-21:00 | SUN: 11:00-15:00

An installation of photographs, drawings and graphic art by the artist Sława Harasymowicz, as well as texts and artefacts selected from the Ethnographic Museum in Krakow.
The exhibition was created in the course of attempts to reconstruct the history of the family and the gradual discovery of its intersections with traumatic historical events.
Ersatz is a substitute, a replacement for something of better quality or greater value. The story related by the artist, from memory, of living people, as well as numerous documents, is not complete. Much is left unsaid, there are many doubts, as well as extras and interruptions. In this way, however, a completely new type of story is built.
